Teynham Parish Council is piloting a WhatsApp Community to help keep residents across the parish—including Barrow Green, Conyer, Deerton Street, Frognal, Greenstreet and Teynham—up to date with important information.
We invite you to join and be part of a more connected, informed community. Details are shown below. We welcome your feedback and suggestions.
- STAY UPDATED — WhatsApp Communities allow one-way announcements—from Teynham Parish Council directly to local residents—without unnecessary replies or distractions.
You’ll receive essential, need-to-know updates direct to your phone, and will cover, for example:
Emergencies– police requests, urgent local requests for assistance; Community updates– events, consultations, news; Local services
- COMMUNITY FOCUS — Our goal is to reach across the whole parish—sharing timely, useful information and encouraging stronger community connections.
- FREQUENCY — You won’t be flooded with messages. We’ll send:
One short update per week; Extra messages only for emergencies
No group chat, no distractions. You won’t see replies from anyone else—just short announcements.
- PRIVACY — Your phone number stays hidden from other members. Only Parish Council admins can send messages, and other users can’t view your contact details.
- OPTIONAL & FREE —This is an optional service. You can unsubscribe any time with a single tap. There is no cost to join or receive updates.
- WANT TO CHAT WITH NEIGHBOURS? — Alongside the main Community (for announcements only), we’ll also be launching a series of WhatsApp Groups for two-way local conversations. Each group can host up to 1,024 members, and they’ll be based on topics or neighbourhood areas.
These groups will make it easier to share ideas, ask questions, and work together on local initiatives. Some ideas include: Conyer Residents Group; Volunteer Coordination; Keep Fit & Walking Groups; Road Safety / Litter Watch ... to name just a few. We’ll need volunteer group admins to help keep things friendly, focused, and respectful. If you're interested in helping run a group, please get in touch.
