Web Refresh 2022

We are updating our website to ensure the information is up to date; refreshing the format so it's easier to read plus adding new content. You'll find a summary of our progress below.

Summary

Tuesday 5 April 2022

Work is in progress to update the TPC Website to create a valuable two-way communications channel. The key activities incluse:
  • Ensure information is up to date
  • Refresh the format, so its easier to read
  • Add new content. 
  • 75% complete

  • Do you want your photo and/or contact details displayed? 


Housekeeping

  • Review all content and check that it is up todate.
  • Consolidate similar information in to one place 
    • eg Planning Response information
  • Add/update meeting dates
  • Update who is on which committee


Look and feel

A number of changes have been made to refresh the format, so it's easier to read.

  • The background image has been removed
  • Original fonts have been replaced by a single standard font.
  • The size of the text has been increased
  • A greater use of white space incorporated in to the design
  • These changes make the page easier to read
  • The colour of the cherry-red banner has been tweaked to give a contemporary look.
  • The top image banner will be updated shortly 

 


'Parish Council' section

The following pages have been added 

Hayley and Brian have reviewed our Council Documents. Updated duuments will be presented to the Parish Council as part of the April Full Council meeting.

In addition, the following concept pages are in development. They are offered to the F&GP committee for review and additions. They are intended to initiate conversations and are a 'starter for 10'.
  • Role - The role of the Councillor
  • Induction - An initial induction programme for new councillors


'News' section

This is a new section.  

  • News-in-brief 
  • This section allows us to share a wide range of different stories in a 'news-in brief' format: heading with very short headline paragraph.
  • This section can easily be removed if resource heavy to maintain.


'Our Community' section

This section combines 'community' & 'churches and halls'.

A number of new pages have been added:

 Next steps, to develop: 

  • Parish Calendar
  • Little black book (businesses within and near by the parish) 


'Out and About' section

A number of pages have been merged on to one page, plus new information added. Over time the aim here is to promote our beautiful parish and the surround area.

  • Explore - A new page sharing sound of our favourite walks. This is work in progress. Additional information to be added
  • Bus, cycle, train & walk - information combined from existing pages. Promoting alternative forms of transport (other than the car!)
